Whether you are curious about this Japanese street fashion or have every brand name memorized, stop by and watch as our models display the styles of Sweet, Classic, and Gothic lolita and its related subgenres.
Since the 1970's, Lolita fashion has grown into an international phenomenon. Simply put, Lolita is a Japanese street fashion primarily influenced by old-time elegance and innocence. It's more obvious influences are the Victorian and Rococo periods, but Edwardian and classic American clothing styles are also utilized. Some common features of the style are knee length bell-shaped skirts or pinafore dresses, blouses, petticoats, parasols, and other esoteric clothing items. The male counterpart of Lolita is referred to as "Ouji" or "Kodona".
The fashion is very specific, certain guidelines and rules are set to define what qualifies an outfit as Lolita. While this may sound restrictive, there is a large variety of styles that fall under the Lolita umbrella, each with it's own unique characteristics.
